Nathan is a native son of the Midwest. Growing up among rural Wisconsin’s factories, cornfields, and forests gave him an intuitive eye for structural designs contrasted against organic curls and dapples of light. Nathan has a natural love for simple geometries and elegant machines. His first job was repairing bicycles and building wheels so that others in his community could enjoy pedaling through the countryside has much as he did.
After studying welding at St. Paul College, Nathan began to see the world through steel and sparks. He worked for nearly a decade as a production and robotic welder in the Twin Cities metro, with a special emphasis on modifying and rehabilitating motor vehicles.
Now, he works on a custom project basis for Twin Cities homeowners. Mostly, he fabricates, repairs, and installs handrails, window boxes, and other exterior metal decor. But, he also makes a great hired hand for building projects that need a welder. He has made custom tools and solutions for various home projects, including security gate installation and re-working handrails to code.
Finally, Nathan has also restored and fabricated home furniture. He has refinished coffee tables and added bespoke welded elements to make furniture truly unique. His specialty is working with steel, wood, and leather.
Nathan lives in Minneapolis with his wife, dog, and two birds. He still goes for bicycle rides all around the Twin Cities, and especially around Minneapolis’ lakes.
